Nucharin Wangphongsawasd's work is inspired by repetitive patterns from both nature and manmade objects and driven by an exploration of forms in the creation of each piece. Wongphongsawasd focuses on experimentation of different types of repetitious progressions through different woodworking techniques to create a body of work that shares her feelings and fragmented memories with the audience.

Her work, Sentimental Chaos, is still an ongoing process; a prologue of a new journey between artist and woodworking. Using kerf bending and bandsaw, she tells her story of coming to the United States, a place that became her home for 4 years of immense personal growth and discovery. While abroad she began to explore her feelings towards Bangkok, the city in which she was born and raised. A chaotic city that many loves and many hate. A city that overwhelms, yet holds a sentimental place in her mind.

From one home, she began crafting a story told through wood-making of the home she remembered; the home accross the world from her which had formed so much of her being.

She is a graduate of the King Mongkut’s University of Technology and Rochester Institute of Technology.
